Tuition Fees

At Loughborough University, tuition fees are your contribution towards the lectures, facilities and administration for studying in one of the best learning environments in the UK.

We are confident that you will see the fee as an investment in your future. Loughborough has an excellent graduate employment rate, and the relatively low cost of living on campus and in the town means that our students get real value for their money.

This page sets out the tuition fee system as it applies to Loughborough University, and answers the most commonly asked questions.

How much will the tuition fee be?

The tuition fee for the 2012/13 academic year for UK/EU returning students for all full-time undergraduate degree courses will be £3,465.

The tuition fee for the 2012/13 academic year for UK/EU new students for all full-time undergraduate degree courses will be £9,000.

The fee will be subject to an inflationary adjustment in subsequent years.

Note: Residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man will pay a fee over the amounts stated on this page. Please contact the International Office for more information

How much will my sandwich/professional placement cost?

If your course includes an industrial/placement year the fee is typically much lower than the full tuition fee. As well as your continuing registration at the University, the placement year fee will include the administration of a Diploma of Industrial/Professional Studies (DPS/DIS) which counts as an additional qualification.

The 2012/13 placement year fee is £725.

The fee UK/EU students starting their course in October 2012 will pay during their placement year (i.e. the 2014-2015 academic year) will be £800.

How will I pay my tuition fee?

Most UK/EU students will be given the option of deferring the payment of all or part of their tuition fees until after they leave higher education. If you are eligible and you choose this option, the relevant amount will be paid on your behalf by the Student Loans Company who will issue you with a loan to cover the amount.
