Santander Postgraduate Sports Scholarship 2010/11
On the 4th February 2008 Loughborough University and Abbey National plc, Banco Santander's UK subsidiary, signed an agreement that set up support for students and researchers and has enabled the University to develop a variety of projects within the Santander Universities scheme.
Through its Santander Universities Global Division, Banco Santander gives more support to the university community than any other bank in the world. Since 1996, Santander Universities has channelled almost half a billion euros into academia through co-operative agreements with over 700 universities in Spain, America, Portugal, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom
Loughborough University is pleased to offer postgraduate taught scholarships, funded by the Santander Universities scheme. Each scholarship is valued at £5,000 for prospective full-time postgraduate taught students.
Specific eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Permanent Resident of one of the following countries- Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Uruguay or Venezuela Excellent academic record
- Excellent academic record
- Excellent record of high level sporting achievement
- Working towards representing your country at a major championship
The selection committee will also take in to account the academic record, sporting achievements and personal statement provided on the application form.

The closing date for applications is 23rd July 2010 . All those applying will be notified of the outcome of their application by email before the end of August. Please note that applicants who are not selected for this scholarship will be automatically considered for a Santander Abbey Postgraduate Scholarship
Applicants must have submitted an official application for their chosen postgraduate programme.
Any award made to an applicant holding a conditional offer for a postgraduate programme will be subject to those conditions being met in full. Additional conditions attached to the Scholarship over and above the conditions in the offer may also be specified
