Background
Born in Salisbury, attended Bishop Wordworths Grammar School. BEng
(DIS) and PhD attained at Loughborough University. Worked for British
Aerospace. Joined the Loughborough University Department of Mechanical
Engineering academic staff in 1996 as the NPL Lecturer in Optical
Engineering, before joining the Department of Manufacturing Engineering
as the Lecturer and subsequently Senior Lecturer in Metrology.

of Excellence in Metrology for Micro and Nano Technologies.
• Referee for journals from the Institute of Physics, Institution
of Mechanical Engineers and SPIE
• Collaborative Research: current examples include the development
of micro metrology tools for micro fabrication, development of areal
standards for micro fabrication (EPSRC 3D-Mintegration Grand Challenge,
2006 - 2010).
