Departmental Bursaries and Scholarships

Many departments offer bursaries to eligible categories of students, and scholarships on a competive basis, some of which cover all tuition fees. Up-to-date information is available from our website at www.lboro.ac.uk/funding or speak to the department concerned.

Loughborough Sports Scholarships

At Loughborough we understand the pressures of combining studying with elite level competition. We aim to provide our sports scholars with first class coaching, sports science and sports medicine support, access to extensive indoor and outdoor training and competition facilities, a life skills programme, a high level of support and an annual cash award.

Our elite sports scholarships offer exceptional students targeting the 2012 Olympics or the 2014 Commonwealth Games all of the above along with a contribution of up to £3,000 towards tuition fees, facility membership (where applicable) and free parking on campus.

To be eligible to apply for either sports scholarship you need to have gained a place on a postgraduate course and be competing in your chosen sport at least at junior international level. Sports scholarships are offered across all sports and all departments.

Music Tuition and Scholarships

The Music Centre offers subsidised music tuition in a range of instruments or for voice. The University heavily subsidises the tuition with the students only paying £55 for 20 lessons. You must register your interest for the tuition at the start of each academic year.

The University also offers up to three music scholarships each year selected by an independent panel of distinguished musicians. These are awards of £500 and the scholars are expected to give a recital in the Spring.
