imago at Loughborough University wins top industry award
imago Services, Loughborough University’s hospitality and catering provider, has won a prestigious industry award for its use of technology.
The Caterer and Hotelkeeper Awards, or Cateys, were established in 1984, to celebrate the industry’s high flyers, strongest performers and hottest brands. Now in their 24th year they have become a byword for quality, class and achievement, the awards that everybody wants to win.
At a glamorous prize giving ceremony held in London on 3 July imago was presented with the ‘Best use of technology’ award in recognition of its online food analysis system. The system uses a dedicated nutritional database to provide students with nutritional data about the food provided. It beat off stiff competition from Domino’s Pizza UK and Ireland, Emirates Stadium and Malmasion and Hotel du Vin Hotels to win the award – the first university to do so.
Duncan Cressall, Operations Director for imago Services, said: “It is the highest honour to receive a ‘Catey’, they are considered to be the Oscars of the catering industry. The award reflects the spirit of innovation and creativity which is such an important part of the University’s culture. The imago team have worked really hard to make this happen for our students and it is fantastic to gain this level of recognition.”
