Loughborough University Helping YOU get healthy in 2009
A new Loughborough University service is launched this week to help staff, students and local residents kick start their New Year health regimes.
Healthy YOU is an informal lifestyle and weight loss club that covers a wide variety of topics to encourage a healthier lifestyle and help people take control of their eating and exercise habits.
The club meets once a week throughout the University term with presentations on different weekly topics and related activities and discussions. Topics include walking for fitness, strength training, maintaining a healthy and balanced diet, physical activity advice and portion size and food labelling. Members can pick and choose which sessions to attend.
Healthy YOU’s first meeting is on Thursday 22 January from 5-6pm at the University’s swimming pool seminar room and runs until the 26 March with sessions resuming in May. Local residents are welcome to attend for a small charge of £2.50 per session.
